All year round in Provence

It is not necessary to venture off the estate to enjoy a quiet ramble along the
old via Aurelia - which once stretched from Rome to Arles - or a climb to the
top of the  Aiguille  to explore  the remains  of a Roman lookout post hidden
among the trees.

As the seasons  change in the  Alpilles, February's  glorious  almond blossom
is soon followed  by carpets  of wild  flowers.  Then, as  the heat  turns up, the
blue iris and wisteria of May and June give way to the brightly coloured flowers
of high  summer.  In the soft  warmth of autumn the vineyards and olive groves
are alive with activity as attention turns to the harvest.

All through the year the cool breezes of the Alpilles ( and the occasional fierce mistral ! ) temper the heat while, away from it all, you can relax and enjoy the famous pink sunsets of Provence in peace.

Sun, serenity - and a swim

All this, and much more, is what the Domaine de l'Aiguille offers the discerning
traveller  seeking the leisurely  pleasures of Provence. Perched on a hill-side in
the alpilles,  the  property is  surrounded by  10 hectares  ( about 25 acres )  of
estate dominated by a wooded peak ( aiguille ).

The rambling old Provençal farmhouse has been transformed by its new English
owners into self-contained apartments, each thoughtfully designed and furnished
with stylish   simplicity.  Balconies and  terraces, fitted kitchens and bathrooms
and full central heating ensure all-year-round privacy and comfort.

Plentiful herbs have been planted for your use in the surrounding garden, and an inviting pool awaits you in the heat of summer. Whenever you arrive the resident house keeper will be there to help you settle in.
